 Gandhiji major movements led by Mahatma Gandhi

Champaran Satyagraha (1917) was launched by Mahatma Gandhi in Bihar to address the grievances of indigo farmers

European planters forced peasants to grow indigo under the exploitative Tikathia system

Gandhi interved and successfully secured relief for farmers

First successful satyagraha in India - Marks Gandhi's entry into mass politics


Kheda Satyagraha (1918) Kheda Satyagraha was not about industrial labor rights

it was  a peasant movement in Gujrat demanding Tax remissions due to crop failure and famine conditions

Industrial labor issues were addressed separately in the Ahmedabad Mill Strike (1918)

Kheda (Peasants ) and Ahmedabad (workers)

Civil Disobedience Movement (1930)  began with the historic Dandi March, led by Mahatma Gandhi it was launched to protest against the British salt tax.

Gandhi marched from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi and broke salt law.
